My name is Melanie and currently I oversee the English language learning provision for the NorthBirmingham4Ukraine voluntary organisation.
I am an experienced (although retired), teacher, who, together with another qualified teacher, and a teacher of English from Ukraine with a small group of volunteer helpers, provide support in learning English at Sutton Coldfield Library on Mondays from 10am to 11.30am.
Our sessions are also supported by representatives from Refugee Migrants Centre and Spring Housing. NorthBirmingham4Ukraine is a volunteer organization which aims to support our Ukrainian guests fleeing from the war in Ukraine in as many ways that we can, including the learning of English.
NorthBirmingham4Ukraine (NB4U) has provided English classes since May of 2022 with an aim to teach and improve the English of Ukrainian arrivals in North Birmingham. Our group has grown from one small group to three groups of differing ability as our students arrive and progress. We cater for students from very beginners to conversational level.

Поки що ми не плануємо проводити іспити, скоріше ми навчаємо студентів до моменту вступу на курси ESOL в коледжі, але ми відкриті для подальшого розвитку, якщо дозволить фінансування. Також у нас є український гість, який є кваліфікованим викладачем англійської мови. Він підтримує нашу групу для початківців, володіє українською та російською мовами, а також англійською та іспанською.
